Mr. Poon started his career in Motorola as an IC designer. After designing the DSP Hawk and the MCU Dragonball, he joined the MCU Development Tools team where he gained extensive experience in board level designs. Mr Poon then joined the world 3rd largest electronic component distributor Future Electronics as Design Centre Manager, heading 3 Designs Centres in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Shanghai with 20 engineers, focusing on variable frequency motor control and charger. Before starting Acelab, Mr. Poon was the Engineering Manager of Advanced Card Systems, specializing in smart card reader. Job responsibility includes design, production and QA.

Starting his profession in Alex Wong & Partners Ltd as an assistant architect in 1996, Mr. Poon promoted to became one of the directors in 2002. He involved in varies private and public developments including the public market, library & sports hall inside a government complex at Fanling, Greenfields, Springdale Villas, Embassy Row, St Andrew Place and the Surfside for Sino Group, Recours La Serre for Polytec Investment Ltd and Costa Bello for Capital Group Development Ltd. Before joining Acelab in 2003, Mr. Poon’s main duty was to head and supervise 4 architects to carry out project administration, government submissions and site coordination.
